Periodic Maintenance of Mikadi–Sheraton Road
The Mikadi–Sheraton road section, originally a gravel-standard road, had deteriorated to such a poor condition that it became impassable for most vehicles. To restore its usability and improve transport infrastructure in the Kigamboni Municipality, Osaka Company Ltd was awarded the tender to carry out its full periodic maintenance and upgrading to asphalt standard.
Our Process to Execute This Project
Cutting and removal of unsuitable material (spoil) to a depth of 500mm, followed by grading and compaction to 95% MDD.
Filling with natural gravel materials of G7, G15, and C1 classes, compacted in layers of 150mm and 200mm thickness respectively.
Installation of a CRR (Cement-Modified Reclaimed Road) layer at 150mm thickness, followed by application of primer and asphalt concrete surface.
Erosion control measures included the construction of reinforced concrete side drains, using C20 ready-mixed concrete reinforced with BRC mesh to strengthen and stabilize the drainage system.
Project Results
Although still ongoing, the completed sections of the road have already significantly improved accessibility, vehicle mobility, and road durability. The project is progressing steadily, with each stage meeting high engineering standards and client satisfaction.
