Land Preparation and Cement-Stabilized Gravel Fill for Pavement Installation with Associated Drainage Works
This subcontracted project involved land preparation and elevation works to support the construction of a pavement system on a site with a naturally inclined terrain. The challenge was to raise the land level by 50 cm above the existing road surface, requiring precise earthworks, stabilization, and drainage planning.
Our Process to Execute This Project
Osaka Company was brought in to solve the elevation challenge by filling one end of the sloped land with up to 3 meters of selected base material, creating a level that was 50 cm below the road surface.
A 4-meter-high reinforced concrete retaining wall was constructed to support and secure the fill material.
Imported gravel material was then placed in layers reaching 40 cm thickness, which was cement-stabilized to ensure strength and durability.
Final preparations allowed the surface to effectively receive the pavement layer, with associated drainage works integrated to prevent erosion and water logging.
Project Results
The site was successfully leveled and stabilized to specification, creating a durable and well-drained sub-base ready for pavement construction. The project was delivered within the agreed timeframe and met both structural and functional requirements of the client.
